New Swiss Dipole Antenna Installed In The Attic

Well, installing a dipole in the attic is real work, half the attic is almost impossible to get to because of the cathedral ceiling in the master bedroom. I installed as much of the length of the Swiss dipole as was possible and then tested it. It performed horribly on both RX and TX.. Sad smile

This is a bummer, I expected RX to be at least as good as the eBay 20m dipole but it wasn’t it was out right bad! While I was up there I re-situated my 10m dipole and made the 20m antenna wire a little tighter. The good news is RX on both the 10m and 20m antennas improved, can’t confirm TX on the 10m, I have been calling CQ on several parts of the 10m band with no response. Band conditions for 10m are bad right now so I’ll try again some other time.

TX on the 20m dipole will have to wait until I upgrade my license or get an Elmer here to help me out. I’ll be going to the FRRL meeting this Tuesday to talk to the guys, we’ll see how it goes.

Have a great weekend everybody!

  2. I have been a customer with Jade Communications for the first time and I must say, I love their services. They are the best in Boca Raton and I would definitely recommend them. Check out their website http://www.jade-com.com/.

I know some people like VE7KFM can't help themselves but if you feel the need to post as "Anonymous" add your name. For some reason he has no issue blasting his call on the air but online he is too frightened to do so, maybe he is afraid of what can happen, who knows, but for the rest of you, please leave a name or call, thanks.
